The architects and the facilities committee developed a phased, long-term plan for the logical growth of all the Hinsdale Schools.  Major additions and renovations will serve the facilities well through the next 20+ years. 

Phase I involved the relocation of students: moving the elementary students into the high school, middle school students into the elementary school, and the high school students into the new high school wing.  A new gymnasium, performance space, and parking for all areas were produced and the rotted facade on the existing high school was replaced.  ADA improvements to the existing elementary school were also performed.  Lastly, campus traffic and walkway improvements were created.   

Phase II involved the complete renovations for the relocated elementary school and middle school and new administration offices, a library, classrooms, and play areas were created.

The scope included:

High School

  • New Middle School Wing with 12 Classrooms
  • New Secure Entry
  • New Kitchen / Expanded Cafeteria
  • New Library
  • New Gymnasium Entry and Locker Rooms
  • Reconfigure Space to Create 4 New High School Classrooms
  • Major Renovations including:
    • Heating and Ventilation
    • Plumbing and Roof Drainage
    • Electrical and Technology Systems
    • Energy Efficient Window Walls
    • Handicapped Access

Elementary School

  • New Multi-Purpose Room
  • Move Grade 6 to New Middle School Wing
  • Major Renovations including:
    • Heating and Ventilation
    • Roof Replacement
    • Electrical and Technology Systems
    • Asbestos Abatement / New Flooring
    • Handicapped Access
