STRYKER BIOTECH

Stryker_9_TechCode Compliance Projects
West Lebanon, New Hampshire

The Turner Group served as architects, engineers, and project managers for the evaluation, analyses, design, and construction administration of multiple code compliance projects in conformance with the International Building Code (IBC), National Fire Protection Association's (NFPA) Life Safety sections specific to H5 flammable materials storage and dispensing.  The necessary use of high concentrations of ethanol and acetonitrile in this bio / pharma environment required the evaluation of egress and fire separation between their cleanroom (core) and the remainder of the building.

Designs included the augmentation of fire separation wall and floor systems, a review of chemical concentrations, dispensing and waste collection protocols, the design of a clean agent fire suppression system, establishment of code-required fire separation zones, and the installation of a 4 hour flammables storage building located immediately adjacent, attached to, and accessible from the existing building.  All of these aspects of the project were coordinated with the local fire marshal and building inspectors.

Construction administration included periodic site observations and meetings, contractor oversight, coordination with Owners and representatives, review of submittals, and approval of applications for payment.
